1. Who we are

Lord Title (“we”, “us”) is a trading name operated by Ancestral Hike (RUT 700181883) in collaboration with a Scottish woodland partner. You can contact us at any time at info@lord-title.uk.

2. The House of Pierpont-Archer

The House of Pierpont-Archer is our own creation — arms, banner and all — invented so that the title we bestow comes from somewhere rather than nowhere. What there is: a register we keep properly, a wax seal, and a coat of arms we drew ourselves and use only on our own documents. Nothing on this site should be read as a claim that the House is a body of nobility, a heraldic authority, or anything other than the trading name under which these novelty gifts are issued.

3. What the product is — and is not

Our packages are novelty gifts. Each consists of (a) a personalised certificate styling the recipient with the honorific “Lord” or “Lady”, and (b) a symbolic dedication of one square metre of Scottish woodland in the recipient’s name, entered in our private register of dedications.

For the avoidance of all doubt:

  • The title is an honorific for amusement and celebration. It is not a legal, noble, official, hereditary or transferable title, and it confers no rights, precedence or recognition of any kind.
  • The woodland dedication is symbolic. It does not transfer ownership of, or any legal interest in, any land. Under the Land Registration etc. (Scotland) Act 2012, souvenir plots cannot be registered in the Land Register of Scotland.
  • We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the Court of the Lord Lyon, Registers of Scotland, or any public body.

4. What you receive

A personalised certificate delivered by email to the address given at checkout, normally within 24 hours of payment. Where the Excellence Package is purchased, a printed copy is dispatched by post within 3 working days. Part of the purchase price is applied toward the preservation of the woodland to which the register relates.

5. Personalisation and acceptable use

You are responsible for the accuracy of the names and dedication text you submit. We may refuse, and refund, any order whose text is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, or impersonates a real office or authority. We correct our own errors free of charge; errors in text you submitted may incur a reissue fee for the Excellence Package.

6. Cancellation and refunds

The certificate is personalised and made to your order. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, the usual 14-day cancellation right does not apply to personalised goods; the emailed certificate is also digital content supplied immediately with your acknowledgement. Independently of that, if we made an error, or the certificate does not arrive, we will reissue or refund in full. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

7. Liability

Our total liability in connection with an order is limited to the price paid for it. We are not liable for any consequence of presenting the honorific title as if it were real — including, but not limited to, disappointment at restaurants.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, or of Scotland, and disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. Consumers retain the protection of the law of their country of residence.
