- Stirlingshire, by Loch Lomond
From a place on the east shore of Loch Lomond, generally read as both chanain, the canon’s house or seat — a church holding that gave its name to the district and then to the family.
The name travelled early to Ulster and from there widely to North America.
Bestow the name a title it never had
An honorific Lord or Lady certificate in the Buchanan name, hand-finished and sealed, with a square metre of Scottish woodland dedicated alongside it. A novelty, magnificently done — and a good deal more fun than a family tree.
